Martedì 18 marzo, presso la Libreria Rinascita di Roma di via delle Botteghe Oscure, ha avuto luogo l’incontro organizzato dai GIV Roma “ Ambiente, Rifiuti e Riciclo”.

Grazie all’intervento di relatori autorevoli e competenti è stato possibile sviluppare un dibattito ed un’analisi critica dei problemi strutturali legati all’avvio di un completo ciclo di recupero del rifiuto, delle tecnologie utilizzate e del role of environmental education. Sul tema della discarica, è stato possibile usufruire dell’esperienza dell’Ing. Rando, amministratore unico della discarica romana di Malagrotta. Quest’ultimo ha potuto confermare l’esaurimento delle capacità contenitive della discarica in questione ed ha portato l’attenzione sulla distanza esistente tra la normativa in vigore (decreto Ronchi e decreto 152) e la realtà, in quanto le quote per la raccolta differenziata indicate sono irraggiungibili momentaneamente. La disposizione di legge, non tenendo conto della realtà, risulta, di fatto, inutile nella sua funzione disciplinante e di sollecitazione.
Dalla discarica autorizzata di Malagrotta, il Prof. Ing. Amendola, docente dell’Università degli Studi di Roma Tor Vergata e Responsabile IDV Lazio “Ambiente, Territorio e Infrastrutture”, ha spostato l’attenzione sulla preoccupante realtà del Tevere, divenuto, in alcuni tratti, discarica a cielo aperto.
